The Review:

Knitting By Twilight was formed in 1994 by musicians/composers John Orsi and Michael Watson. Since then there has been a revolving line-up that released several albums including a self titled debut, the follow-up Heavy Hearts & Safety Nets and the new EP, Someone to Break the Silence as well as contibutions to the “It's Twilight Time” compilation Moments of Suspension.

Someone to Break the Silence is a five track teaser for the forthcoming album by Knitting By Twilight... An Evening Out Of Town. Musically the band treads ground covered by 80's King Crimson especially with"Sigh" and "Mr. Santini". Other tracks, "Holiday to Holiday" and "She's Not Here She's Far Ahead" have a more ambient feel and feature some vocals. Sometimes it makes me think of the music of Sylvian/Fripp and Fripp’s Sundays All Over The World. Another refrences with the vocals songs especially is the mellow side of Thinking Plague.

After several listens of Someone to Break the Silence. I'm looking forward to hearing the An Evening Out Of Town album as well as their other releases. This is something that would please the fans of the afore mentioned bands as well as some altrenative music. I am pleased to rank this amoungst one of the best releases of 2005.
