The Review:

My first contact with the band was seeing them open up for King Crimson at the Wiltern back in the mid 90's and I really dug their sound. The next time I saw the band was years later at the Troubadour when they opened for The Flower Kings. I was even more impressed by their set which included an amazing cover of Bohemian Rhapsody and Heart of the Sunset.

I’m very honored now to review their latest studio release, Whitewater. This time they’re in the trio format but with a bigger sound. Maybe this is due in part to Tony Levin producing or the fact that the California Guitar Trio is always expanding their sound whether it be in their trio format or with guests. They never let their fans down. On Whitewater they continue their legacy of great recordings, which is a very recommended release for 2004.
