Pallas have been recording albums since the early 80’s and like a few of it’s peers changed lead singers. Unlike their peers, they focused more on the hard rock aspect than the new wave that IQ, Marillion and Twelfth Night ventured upon. They released three albums in the 80’s then went dormant until 1999. In 2000, InsideOut Music reissued the four releases and became the band’s home. Since then they released two studio and one live album with the label.
Now in 2008, the band teamed up with Metal Mind Productions to produce the ‘Moment To Moment’ dvd which was recorded from a live performance given in Katowice, Poland on October 31st, 2007. The current line-up of Pallas is made up of Alan Reed (vocals), Graeme Murray (Bass, vocals), Niall Mathewson (Guitars), Ronnie Brown (Keyboards), and Colin Fraser (Drums).
Even though the entire setlist of this DVD are wonderfully executed, the highlights for me on this are: “Queen Of The Deep“, “Invincible”, “Fragments Of The Sun” and the rousing encore, “Arrive Alive”. I just wished they had more from ‘The Sentinel’, which is my favorite of their 80’s output.
If you enjoyed their last live recording, “Blinding Darkness’ or any of their studio work then Moment To Moment is a must have. It even comes as a deluxe edition with a cd of the same show. I’d also recommend this to fans of the melodic based progressive rock. It’s well worth it to own this live document of one of the best progressive rock bands from the UK,
