The Review:

About a month or so ago I got a CD from a band called Co_Conspirator. They’re a power trio that hails from the Akron, Ohio area and plays a form of progressive music rooted in a combination of jazz and metal. Musically they’re very similar to Cynic, Gordian Knot and the instrumental side of King Crimson (1972-74, 2000-04). Their songs have a very raw and in your face instrumentally based sound that grabs you and never let go.

This CD is very well recorded and the production sound is actually one of the better sounding of the independents I’ve received in a long while. From their “mysapce” page, it seems that Co_Conspirator has a nice following in their area and play regularly the music on this CD as well as many other songs.

After several listens, I really can see this band being possibly the next big thing in progressive/jazz metal. They do need some polishing up but not much. So any cool record label out there needs to sign this band, like yesterday!
