The Review:
- New Eden Orchestra, brings us a new “rock opera”, yes you heard that right. I know it’s a style that’s been done to death in recent years BUT the difference with NEO’s AnyMAN, is it is a human story and deal with issues of the modern world. Without diving into the subject matter, it seems that the music is a commentary of modern global issues, mostly the ones that threaten the existence of mankind. These songs run from a straight out rockers to a quirky sounding music bordering on progressive pop. For those that want a more complex style of music, you won’t find it here. What you will find is a fun melodic music with clever writing, arrangements and lyrics.
There are some similarities with bands like Supertramp, Be Bop Deluxe, Klaatu, as well as newer bands like Izz, Salem Hill, Cryptic Vision and Rocket Scientists. So if melodic progressive pop is to your liking then do yourself a great favor and pick up AnyMan today! Reviewed by Ron Fuchs on July 24th, 2004
