The Review:

Martone's A Demon's Dream is a modern fusion based progressive metal CD with nods to the "nu-metal" scene with it's crunchy guitar and samplings. It should appeal to fans of progressive metal especially those who want more than what bands like Dream Theater has recorded.

A Demon's Dream is possibly the most progressive of it's genre because it defies the typical all crunch and sometimes no substance some prog-metal bands of today's market. Plus it injects some humor into the music which most prog-metal bands can't or are afraid to do. Also included is a cover of Charles Mingus' Goodbye Pork Pie Hat. Since I haven't heard the original I can't comment except that it's a nice contrast to the rest of the album. Highly recommended!!
