The Review:

World Drummers Ensemble is an all percussion band consisting of Doudou N’Diaye Rose, Chad Wackerman, (Frank Zappa, Allan Holdsworth), Luis Conte (Madonna, Michael Jackson), and Bill Bruford (Yes, King Crimson, UK, Earthworks). Together they perform some of the most unusual and enjoy percussive & rhythmic music to date. I wasn’t sure how to approach this since there’s no other instrument. I would gather the music would be categorized as “world music”. Out of the four, I’m only aware of Bill Bruford and his involvement within the progressive rock genre.

A Coat Of Many Colors comes as a Dual Disc (CD/ DVD), which is on Bill’s Summerfold Records label. This way you can hear the music one day and watch it the next. I would recommend this to fans of percussive music as well as fans of Bill Bruford. All others proceed with an open mind.
