The Review:

I was fortunate enough to get in contact with Eric Ragno about doing a review of the demos for his new band Vox Tempus. I usually don’t review demos because they’re usually not the finished product but from the 3 song demo I received, I can say this is going to be a hot band to look out for. They are equal parts Styx and Fates Warning but with an originality of it’s own. The Styx influence comes mainly from vocalist Dan Reed with his uncanny similarity to Dennis DeYoung.

All the musicianship on the songs are top notch and they really show their talent. The songs are well crafted and written to fit the prog metal genre. I find them to be a refreshing because the members never step on each other’s toes. I can hear they are all about the music and that’s very good thing now-a-days. I can’t wait for the full length release. Vox Tempus is going to be the next big thing in the prog metal world!
