The Review:
- Traumhaus’ second release ‘Die Andere Seite’ came from out of nowhere and was a welcomed surprised. The origin of the band is Germany and they sing in their native tongue. For a non -German speaking person, it was a slight put off. One interesting bit of trivia is that drummer, Hans Jörg Schmitz is also a multi-instrumentalist of King Of Agogik. From what one of my reviewers wrote, it would appear that Traumhaus is the more symphonic dare I say neo-progressive of the two.
‘Die Andere Seite’ contains four 10+ minute epics and three that are around the 7 minute mark. Each time I listen to the album, I’m drawn in more despite the language barrier. Traumhaus is solid modern progressive rock that would appeal to fans of Eloy or Triumvirat, to name a few. You can hear some samples on their MySpace to help you decide. This has become a welcomed addition to my CD library.
