The Review:
- I had the pleasure of reviewing Omni’s first album, Paint By Numbers back in 2002. Paint By Numbers was co-produced by the band and Ronan Chris Murphy, who also produced some of the King Crimson double trio era along with other bands. Ever since then I’ve been in contact with them and as recent as 2005, I found them on MySpace.com. On their MySpace page they had an announcement of a brand new album. They graciously sent me a copy to review.
The new album is a self titled EP which goes a slightly different route than their debut without losing their identity. They further developed their music style even further with fresh new sounds. They’re musically closer to the alternative rock style but have a progressive tinged attitude towards the compositions and song writing. One song from this EP that I find especially good and infectious is the first track, Something Given.
Now I can’t wait for more of their music. Hopefully sooner than 3 years. You can even go to their MySpace.com page to hear some full length songs. Reviewed by Ron Fuchs on March 7th, 2006 Review Discography
