The Review:

This is my first reviewing an italian pro releaseg so I'm proud to have a chance not only to listen to but review. According to the promo info I got, Finisterre draws influences from the great 70's prog bands including King Crimson, Camel, Genesis, Van der Graaf Generator, Pink Floyd as well as their own countrymen PFM without becoming clones of these bands.

Finisterre is a very modern sounding prog band with the drums in the forefront, guitars blazing with emotion and clear mixes all around. This live recording was from their performance at ProgDay '97, I was not able to attend but when listening you can feel as if you were there.

Stand-out tracks include; "Altaloma" (a PFM classic) it sounds magnificent and I'm sure they did PFM & PFM's fans proud; "Phaedra", an amazing song with interludes of King Crimson & Genesis tracks (In the Court of the Crimson King, 21st Century Schizoid Man & Genesis' Firth of Fifth) as the band memebers are being announced; and "Orizzonte Degli Eventi", is an amazing epic.... which is my favorite track but I enjoyed the whole disc! I will eventually get the rest of Finisterre's catalog.

Thank you to this wonderful band for the great music and a special thank you to Leonardo at MoonJune Records for sending me the cd.
