The Review:

Court is an Italian band that started out in 1990. Their first album "And You'll Follow The Winds' Rush 'till Their Breath Dwells" was recorded in 1993 in Leonberg (Germany) and the second, "Distances", in 1995 in Germany too, both with the no defunct label "WMMS Music Is Intelligence".

After a decade later and some line -up changes and a never completed album the band returns with a new album in 2007 called “Frost Of Watermelon”. The music on the CD is a mixture of pysch, folk, alternative and prog sounds that gives it a unique sound for modern music.

I haven’t heard the first two albums but I can say that ”Frost of Watermelon” is an amazing album from start to finish. Even though the entire album is very enjoyable, my favorite tracks are the opening track “Men I Met”, “Limbo“, “Synaptic Ghost” and the closer, a four part epic called “Mad and Child“.

According to their MySpace page they state their influences are Influences Led Zeppelin, Jethro Tull, Pink Floyd, King Crimson and Yes. I would say they’re closer to the Tull and Crimson sound than anything. I would recommend fans of these bands to pick up a copy of Court’s long overdue album ‘Frost Of Watermelon’ today. Also check out their page at MySpace to hear some of their songs and their website for tour dates within the USA.
