The Review:

Distant Lands is an instrumental EP based in guitar driven rock with jazz fusion leanings. He falls under the many extremely talented guitarists in the past decades. Anthony Marcus blended old style instrumental with modern day accompaniment by himself. I’m impressed by all of the music with the exception of the drum and percussions. I wished it was done by a live drummer. That being said, it’s by far the best of the non live drumming. Nothing in the realm of odd time changes but in the way they were played. You almost have to dwell on it to notice. Anthony Marcus is a name to remember. I hope to see that name again soon.

Oh and I forgot to mention that he is a 2004 IOMA Nominee for Best Instrumental Artist. So go to his website and get this inexpensive CD, especially for fans of Satch.p>Reviewed by Ron Fuchs on July 10th, 2004
